Hofen
Grabenstetten, The county of Reutlingen
The castle’s name Hofen appears in 1323 as an addition to the family name Schwenzlin, who were first documented in 1275 and mentioned last in 1478. They were not only in service to the Teck family, but also held bailiwick rights in town. Hence, the castle being mentioned, it can be assumed that it was built in the 14th century. In any case, sources state that the castle had already fallen into ruins in 1535, but the remains of its chapel, the so-called Alexander chapel, are said to still have stood.
