A Cooperation between the Kreisarchiv Reutlingen and Esslingen

The two archives look after the region’s historical sources and in doing so guarantee the preservation of the history, culture and knowledge of the Landkreise (administrative districts) of Reutlingen and Esslingen. A part of this is the documentation and research on surrounding castles and castle sites. Hence, the purpose of the Unsere Burgen website is to present some of the research done to the public.

The content available on the Unsere Burgen website is gradually being expanded and further information on former aristocratic residences, whose construction and period of use date back to the Middle Ages, is being added. To start off, the website focuses on greater and better researched sites. However, the goal is to provide information about all recorded castle sites, which amount to more than two hundred.
