Buttenhausen (Münsingen), The county of Reutlingen
The village of Buttenhausen was home to local nobility until the 16th century and again starting in the 19th century. The classicist castle was built in 1816 on behalf of the Weidenbach family. In the 20th century, the building was sold to Stuttgart. It got turned into a home for the disabled, alcoholics, endangered young and socially disadvantaged people, which also offered employment. Now, it is the administrative headquarters of the social welfare institution called Landheim Buttenhausen.
