Trochtelfingen (Alte Burg)

Trochtelfingen, The county of Reutlingen

The castle of Trochtelfingen, also called Alte Burg (old castle), was a hilltop castle to the north of the city of Trochtelfingen. The potential home of local nobility was most likely built in the first half of the 12th century, right at the site where researches found traces of a pre-historic settlement. The so-called Alte Burg was abandoned in the second half of the 13th century. In 1660, the Marienkapelle was built.
