Ehemaliger Truppenübungsplatz Münsingen (Gutsbezirk), The county of Reutlingen
The so-called Uracher Lagerbuch of 1454 mentions a “Burgstall Richenowe.” Any further information about the castle’s founders or its residents is missing. According to archaeological finds, the castle was probably built around the middle of the 12th century and was used for approximately 150 years. Its founders are said to haven been the noble family of Gruorn. Because of its location, size and architecture, researcher think that it was one of the most important castles founded in the 12th century. Today, it is closed off to visits from the public as it is part of a former military training ground.
